BUCHAN CAVES OPEN FOR VISITORS
Located in the alpine region of East Gippsland, about a 45 minute drive from lakes Entrance, the Buchan Caves are a 400-million-year-old labyrinth of caves full of stalagmites, stalacites and still pools.
Closed since last summer’s bushfires, the Buchan Caves in East Gippsland have re-opened for visitors to explore.
Along with visiting the caves, travellers are encouraged to also spend some time exploring the surrounding region. Some fire-affected parts of the park remain closed, but Buchan is rebuilding and welcoming visitors.
A Visitor Centre on site can help visiting with planning their trip, but due to restricted numbers, tickets must be purchased online by midnight the day before.
