Queensland is the land of the Great Barrier Reef and the home of the beloved Gold Coast. It gives visitors the chance to traverse the biggest sand island in the world, Fraser Island, and watch whales migrating along the Pacific Ocean. This state offers some of the whitest sandy beaches in the world, not to mention ancient rainforests that will give any 4WD enthusiast a run for their money, particularly Cape York.
The size of Queensland means the climate varies greatly from one area to another. The south western tip of the state is arid and dry, while the south eastern edges boast subtropical climates.
